M5 Entertainment Sets Global Film Fund at India’s WAVES Film Bazaar
Filmmaker and producer Sonya V. Kapoor is partnering with Amrita Mendonza to establish the M5 Entertainment Global Film Fund, which is debuting with its first award presentation during the Indian National Film Development Corporation’s WAVES Film Bazaar initiative. The program represents a commitment to supporting distinctive filmmaking voices from India and international markets.
The fund will focus on emerging talent and provide support to help selected films achieve international visibility. The inaugural M5 Entertainment Global Film Fund Award will be presented at the WAVES Film Bazaar closing ceremony, recognizing a project that demonstrates artistic merit and global resonance.
“Filmmakers across the world have stories that deserve global attention,” Kapoor said. “With this fund and our inaugural award, Amrita and I will celebrate creators with strong artistic vision and help their films find the visibility they deserve. This initiative will be deeply personal to us – it is about elevating voices that can move culture forward.”
