Season 27 of “Big Brother” concluded with a bang on Sunday, with the two-hour live finale reaching an average of 4.3 million views on CBS.
That total marks the reality competition series’ biggest audience in more than three years, since one of the final episodes of Season 24 hit 4.5 million viewers on Sept. 18, 2022, according to Live + Same Day data from Nielsen. It’s also a 33% improvement on the Season 26 finale’s 3.2 million viewers.
Sunday’s episode capped off an already strong season for “Big Brother.” As of Sept. 25, per Nielsen, Season 27 had been streamed for 8.4 billion minutes, a 27% increase from the year before, and episodes were averaging 5.1 million viewers after 35 days of availability, up 23% from the previous season’s Live + 35 Day average. In Live + Same Day data, “Big Brother” Season 27 has averaged 3.2 million viewers per episode, placing the finale 33% above the heap.
Hosted by Julie Chen Moonves, “Big Brother” follows a group of people living together in one house, who are recorded at all times by 94 HD cameras and 113 microphones. Each week, the houseguests must vote someone out, with the last person left taking home a $750,000 prize. On Sunday, 25-year-old Chicago attorney Ashley Hollis was crowned the Season 27 winner.
